Job Description

Data Analyst

Stio is an omni-channel mountain brand that designs, develops, and sells apparel, footwear, and accessories. We are inspired by mountain life and are committed to environmental stewardship and inclusivity.

About the Role

Stio is seeking a Data Analyst to join our Data & Analytics team. This is a full-stack, horizontal role where you will work alongside the Director of Data & Analytics to expand the business's use of data for decision-making. Your responsibilities will span data infrastructure, analysis, BI development, and stakeholder partnership across various departments including Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, Inventory Planning, and B2B. You will tackle high-leverage problems and contribute to the growth of the analytics function.

This role utilizes a tech stack including Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Power BI, GitHub, Python, SQL, and R. AI-assisted development is the standard, with a focus on strong foundational skills to review and validate AI-generated code. We are looking for an analyst who can connect data insights to the bigger picture, drive action, and is eager to learn and adapt to evolving analytics practices.

This is a remote, permanent position within the Finance department, reporting to the Director of Data & Analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders across Product Development, Marketing, DTC, B2B, Finance, Operations, and Inventory Planning to translate business questions into analyses, dashboards, and data products.
  • Build and maintain dbt models to transform raw data into reliable, documented datasets.
  • Develop and maintain semantic context, dashboards, and reports for daily business operations.
  • Own metric definitions and business semantics, driving alignment among stakeholders.
  • Review and refine AI-generated SQL, dbt models, and Python code, ensuring accuracy and trustworthiness.
  • Investigate ambiguous data questions by collaborating with source-system owners and reconciling conflicting information.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of Stio's data infrastructure (Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, GitHub, Power BI, R, Python).
  • Improve data governance through the creation of useful documentation for both the data team and the wider business.
  • Continuously develop your skills in the evolving field of data analytics.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a data analyst, analytics engineer, or similar role.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including CTEs, window functions, and experience with messy data.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, including writing models, tests, and documentation.
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks).
  • Proficiency with version control using Git/GitHub.
  • Experience as a developer with at least one BI tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • A clear perspective on AI-assisted development for analytics, understanding its strengths and limitations.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort presenting findings verbally, in writing, and visually.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Working knowledge of Python and/or R for analysis.
  • Experience with components of our data stack (Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, GitHub, Power BI, Python, R, Claude Code, Codex).
  • Experience with systems such as NetSuite, Shopify, Google Analytics, Segment, or Klaviyo.
  • Professional experience in DTC, omni-channel retail, apparel, footwear, or outdoor industries.
  • Experience working in a small or solo data team with end-to-end ownership.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package including base pay, incentives, and benefits.
  • Base salary range: $85,000 - $100,000.
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision plans.
  • Company-paid Long-Term Disability.
  • Employee Assistance Programs.
  • 401k with Match.
  • Generous paid time off policies.
  • Gear testing and other perks.
