We are seeking two part-time nurses to join our Clinical Consultation team. This is a remote position.
Available Part-Time Shifts (CST):
- Saturday/Sunday: 6:00 PM - 12:00 AM
- Friday/Saturday/Sunday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
As a nurse at Sedgwick, you will advocate for patients in a non-traditional clinical setting, applying your medical knowledge to assist in managing complex conditions, treatment planning, and recovery from illness or injury. Key Responsibilities
- Apply all phases of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) when triaging calls.
- Assess caller needs, provide appropriate care advice, and recommend disposition to the correct level of treatment, promoting cost-effective outcomes and facilitating return to work.
- Identify the needs of callers by triaging, obtaining general health information, and/or referring to physician services.
- Evaluate the need for alternative treatment through telephonic contact and assessment with service providers.
- Utilize defined triage protocols to gather pertinent data and enter it into the computer system.
- Identify life-threatening emergencies and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Refer issues requiring physician intervention to a physician in a timely manner.
- Direct patients to the appropriate level of care, including emergency rooms, urgent care facilities, primary treating physicians, or self-care.
- Adhere to quality assurance standards.
- Serve as a resource to other triage team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Active, unrestricted RN compact licensure required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical practice experience.
- Proficiency in using multiple computer applications and navigating various screens.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think clearly and conceptually, with excellent judgment and discretion.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in computer keyboarding.
- Ability to hear, see, and talk.
