About the Role

DHL Express is seeking a dedicated and reliable Courier to join their team in Kingston. In this mid-level, permanent, onsite position, you will be responsible for the timely and efficient pick-up and delivery of time-sensitive materials, adhering strictly to company procedures and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive a company vehicle to customer sites, navigating various weather conditions, traffic patterns, and driving regulations to ensure prompt pick-up and delivery of documents and packages.
• Safely handle and deliver all received materials to the correct consignee.
• Collect payments (cash, cheque, debit/credit card) for Cash on Delivery (COD) services and submit delivered invoices and collected payments to Finance daily.
• Utilize a scanner to record shipping and package information for all pick-ups and deliveries.
• Maintain good work habits, including punctuality and adherence to standard work and safety procedures.
• Communicate with dispatch via radio to confirm all deliveries and collections.
• Report any suspected security breaches or unusual occurrences to the Lead Courier immediately.
• Perform other assigned duties as required.

Requirements

• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal and excellent customer service skills.
• Self-starter with a motivated and organized approach to work.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• A valid General Driver’s License for vehicles 3000 kg or above, held for more than 3 years.
• A clean police record.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Map reading and GPS skills, with knowledge of the delivery area preferred.
• Previous professional driving experience, preferably in a delivery role.
