About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, execution-focused Digital Marketing Manager to own and enhance Nabu Casa's online presence. This role involves planning and executing campaigns, growing our organic reach, and optimizing paid advertising spend. You will work closely with the Product Marketing Manager, driving the digital marketing agenda proactively. Our audience is technically sophisticated and community-rooted, requiring a marketer who respects their intelligence and understands their needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the performance of Nabu Casa's digital channels (website, email, SEO, paid social, and search) with clear targets for reach, conversion, and subscriber growth.
- Plan and execute digital campaigns end-to-end, from brief to post-campaign analysis, aligning with product launches and commercial priorities.
- Build and improve organic search presence through content strategy and on-site Search Engine Optimization (SEO), aiming to reduce reliance on paid traffic.
- Manage email marketing for Nabu Casa Cloud subscribers, including lifecycle flows, release announcements, and re-engagement campaigns, tracking key metrics.
- Oversee paid digital spend and Return on Investment (ROI) across channels, allocating and optimizing the budget rigorously.
- Report on digital performance weekly, providing clear recommendations for future priorities.
- Grow and engage Nabu Casa's presence in user communities such as Home Assistant forums, Reddit, YouTube, and related open-source and smart home spaces.
- Test new growth levers (affiliate, referral, influencer) through structured experiments and documented learnings.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience managing digital channels including SEO, email marketing, paid social/search, and content, with demonstrable ownership of performance metrics.
- Fluency in analytics, including building dashboards, interpreting funnel data, and distinguishing signal from noise without relying on a dedicated data team.
- Strong copywriting skills for digital contexts, capable of engaging a technically literate audience without condescension.
- Familiarity with marketing automation and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot, or equivalent).
- High degree of autonomy and initiative; ability to identify next steps without constant direction.
Desirable Skills
- Experience marketing technical, developer-adjacent, or open-source products.
- Familiarity with the Home Assistant ecosystem or the smart home space.
- Experience working in a small, remote-first team where you own a function end-to-end.

Nabu Casa is a fully remote organization employing people globally. You will be a salaried employee in your country of residence, working approximately 40 hours per week. While there is no fixed schedule, we aim for at least 3 hours of overlap for team communication.
