About the Role
The Agency Manager plays a critical role in managing third-party sales agencies at the customer/headquarter level for a defined market area and group of customers. This position will be primarily focused on the C&S (Commercial & Sales) sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving share, volume, and financial objectives through effective execution of Colgate strategies, successful management of the Sales Agency team, and strong customer collaboration.
Please note: This role is preferably based in the Rosemont, IL CDO office or field-based in the NY/NJ area due to the headquarters location of the primary customer. Internal candidates currently based in other CDO offices may also be considered, as well as internal candidates from other geographic field-based locations. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a group of customers within a defined market area, collaborating to drive results and achieve share, volume, and financial objectives.
- Work with Sales Agency Partners to manage information flow to third-party retail teams.
- Lead the translation of Colgate objectives into specific customer strategies to enhance growth and business performance.
- Hold P&L and financial responsibility for the assigned area.
- Drive Joint Business Planning (JBP) and customer collaboration opportunities.
- Coach and lead Sales Agency Partners, providing feedback and conducting formal annual and mid-performance reviews to ensure accountability for individual and team objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 6+ years of experience in the Consumer Product Goods (CPG) industry.
- 2+ years of experience in key customer account management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Experience using Colgate's business planning reporting and planning system or similar customer planning software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with a syndicated service (e.g., Nielsen, IRI).
- Previous people management or broker management experience.
What We Offer
- Salary: $109,600.00 - $155,000.00 USD per year, determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
- Incentives: Salaried employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
