Handyperson - Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort

Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites, part of the global Minor Hotels group, is seeking a proactive and reliable Handyperson to join the team at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort in Newcastle on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is crucial for maintaining the property's presentation, safety, and overall guest experience.

About the Role

As a Handyperson, you will be the go-to person for a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks across guest rooms, public areas, and operational spaces. You will contribute to ensuring the resort runs smoothly and efficiently, handling both planned preventative maintenance and unexpected issues. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys a varied, hands-on role.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs and maintenance in guest rooms, public areas, and resort facilities.
• Assist with and oversee external contractors when necessary.
• Implement and manage the property's preventative maintenance program.
• Maintain accurate records of daily tasks, maintenance requests, and service schedules.

Requirements

• Previous hands-on experience in building or property maintenance is preferred (12 months).
• Previous painting experience would be an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to delivering high standards of service.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Must have the legal right to work in Australia.
