VC Associate
Toyota Ventures is seeking a motivated VC Associate to join the Toyota Ventures Frontier Fund(s). This is a permanent, remote position with a salary range of $120,000 - $155,000 per year.

About the Role
The VC Associate will play a key role in sourcing and screening innovative companies in sectors such as AI, advanced materials, automation and robotics, and space tech. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team, engage with leading entrepreneurs and investors, and contribute to the growth of cutting-edge startups.
Key Responsibilities
- Network and participate in industry and VC events and organizations.
- Generate deal flow and source high-potential target companies.
- Evaluate companies through meetings and analysis to make investment recommendations.
- Participate in due diligence, competitive analyses, and industry deep dives.
- Prepare investment memos and present potential investments to the Investment Committee.
- Support deal negotiations and closings.
- Analyze industry trends and author market research briefings.
- Collaborate with the Toyota Ventures platform team to support portfolio companies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a relevant field.
- A minimum of 4 years of related work experience, with previous experience in venture capital or an operational role in a technology company being preferred.
- A strong understanding of deep tech.
- Hands-on experience in a development or product management role related to our investment areas is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong understanding of industry trends and the ability to identify emerging startups.
- A natural networker, plugged into the startup ecosystem, and familiar with leading entrepreneurs and investors in deep tech.
- Experience creating cap tables, digesting financial statements, and preparing investment memos.
- Strong financial modeling and analysis skills.
- Extensive experience working with Excel and Google Suite.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Entrepreneurial-minded, comfortable with ambiguity and risk.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and successfully complete projects with minimal guidance.
- Passion for learning about new technologies and understanding their business potential.
