About the Role
Reporting to the Parks Manager and Foreman, the Gardener Grade 3 plays a vital role in developing and maintaining the aesthetic beauty and greenery of our parks, open spaces, roundabouts, and streets. This position involves providing a range of horticulture and landscaping services in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Gardener will also undertake additional duties to support the effective operation of the Parks Department, contributing to the enjoyment of residents, businesses, and the general public.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform horticulture and landscaping services for parks, open spaces, roundabouts, and streets.
- Maintain and enhance the physical beauty and greenery of public areas.
- Operate and maintain materials, tools, herbicides, pesticides, and equipment used in parks maintenance and landscaping.
- Interact courteously and politely with internal and external customers.
- Undertake additional duties as required to support the Parks Department.
Requirements
- Bermuda Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient knowledge of materials, tools, herbicides, pesticides, and equipment utilized in parks maintenance and landscaping.
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers in a courteous and polite manner.
- Basic computer literacy skills.
