Impact of a Senior People Business Partner

As a Senior People Business Partner, you will serve as a strategic advisor and key partner in shaping Upsun's organizational health. You will support leaders in integrating company values into daily team practices, helping them build high-performing, healthy teams that can scale with the business. Your role is crucial in bridging the gap between high-level business objectives and the daily employee experience, ensuring our people strategy is effectively executed, scalable, and evolves with business growth.

You will excel in the dynamic environment of a scaling company, navigating the complexities of international remote work with empathy and data-driven insights. Whether coaching a new manager, designing a global performance framework, or leading a transformation project, your contributions will directly influence Upsun's culture and success.

What to Expect

• Strategic Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing coaching and insights to enhance organizational capability and team dynamics.
• Program Ownership: Manage the full lifecycle of People initiatives, such as Talent Management, Learning & Development, and Engagement. This includes designing frameworks, contributing to execution, owning data, and refining processes.
• Operational Excellence: Balance high-level strategy with hands-on support for essential routines in compensation, performance cycles, and employee relations.
• Analytical Influence: Utilize metrics and feedback loops to identify trends, highlight key issues, and propose proactive solutions to stakeholders.
• Change Management: Guide teams through organizational changes with clear communication, focusing on preserving our unique company culture.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with People Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Finance to ensure a cohesive and supportive experience for all Upsunners.

What You Bring

• Seasoned Expertise: Significant experience as a People Business Partner, particularly within high-growth tech startups or IaaS/SaaS environments.
• French Labor Law & Compliance: Strong, practical knowledge of French employment law, including navigating contractual obligations, employment adjustments, and terminations with compliance and empathy.
• CSE Management: Proven experience managing relations and maintaining constructive dialogue with the Comité Social et Économique (CSE).
• Remote/Hybrid Mastery: Deep understanding of building culture and trust across different time zones and remote setups.
• Strategic Project Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading transformative People projects (e.g., leveling frameworks, L&D programs) from concept to completion.
• Influential Communication: Exceptional English communication skills, capable of conveying complex People concepts clearly and warmly to technical stakeholders.
• Analytical Problem-Solving: Proficiency in using data to inform decisions and identify solutions, while maintaining a focus on the human element.
• High Autonomy: A self-starter adept at thriving in a decentralized, fast-paced environment, capable of setting pace and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
