Job Description

(Senior) Site Reliability Engineer (m/f/d) – Platform & Agentic Operations

At 1KOMMA5°, we are driven by a clear vision: "Living on wind and sunlight forever for free." We are building the energy system of the future with our Heartbeat AI, integrating regional craftsmanship with scalable software. Our approach treats solar, batteries, heat pumps, and e-mobility not as isolated components, but as an intelligent, integrated system within our virtual power plant, directly connected to the electricity market in real-time and fully automated. Our ambitious goal is to transition 1.5 million households to renewable energies by 2030, with over 3,000 dedicated individuals working towards this mission across more than 80 locations worldwide.

We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Platform team. In this role, you will bridge classic infrastructure with Agentic Engineering, focusing on leveraging AI agents to reduce developer friction, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and automate the resolution of code review and deployment bottlenecks. If you are passionate about taking responsibility and building solutions that truly matter, apply now to help us shape the energy world of tomorrow.

Tech Stack:

  • Cloud & Infra: GCP (CloudRun, GKE), Terraform, Terramate
  • Reliability: Incident.io, Datadog (OpenTelemetry)
  • Agentic: Cursor
  • CI/CD & DevEx: GitHub Actions, Backstage
  • Languages: Python, GoLang, TypeScript

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enhance monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems to ensure high reliability and meet defined Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
  • Design, build, and maintain resilient, scalable infrastructure using SRE principles and best practices.
  • Participate in post-incident reviews, identify patterns, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Execute performance testing, analyze system bottlenecks, and develop capacity planning strategies.
  • Build systems where CI/CD test failures provide real-time context for AI agents, enabling them to analyze logs, trace dependencies, and suggest or apply code fixes.

Your Profile:

  • 6+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Site Reliability Engineering principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, GoLang, or TypeScript.
  • Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into automated workflows, understanding how to provide live system state as actionable context to agents.
  • Prior experience in incident management, post-incident reviews, and implementing preventative improvements.
  • Ability to systematically troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Solid experience with a public cloud provider, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and its observability services.
  • A proactive approach to identifying problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying technical concepts and collaborating effectively.
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English; German is a plus.
  • Residency in Germany.

Bonus points for:

  • Interest in the climate tech industry.
  • Prior experience with IoT applications.
  • Experience in a scale-up environment.

What We Offer:

  • Be part of an international, dynamic, and highly motivated team that makes things happen.
  • Directly contribute to accelerating the energy transition and making a positive impact on the climate.
  • Work and learn alongside super-smart colleagues.
  • Enjoy direct contact with core decision-makers.
  • Excellent opportunities for full-time employment in one of Europe's most thriving scale-ups.
  • Flexible remote work options (Germany-wide), with offices in Hamburg, Berlin, or Munich.
  • Support for a healthy work-life balance through benefits like the EGYM Wellpass.
  • Access to benefits and discounts via Futurebens.
  • Flexible job bike leasing options for both city and e-bikes.
