About the Role
Colgate-Palmolive, a global leader in consumer products, is seeking a dynamic Professional Veterinary Affairs Consultant (PVAC) to join our Hill's Pet Nutrition team in Canada for an 8-month contract. This role is crucial in establishing Hill's as a scientific, innovative, and credible partner within the veterinary profession, dedicated to improving the health of dogs and cats. You will engage with veterinary customers to communicate the science behind Hill's Pet Nutrition, driving recommendation and endorsement of our products.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement (60%):
- Engage veterinary healthcare teams according to regional activation plans to build business and position Hill's as a trusted partner.
- Influence practice success by providing nutritional education through workshops, seminars, and educational events.
- Offer technical support to key team members in clinics, and at local and regional conferences.
- Education Plan Support (20%):
- Assist in planning and organizing national or regional educational events, including financial planning, budget tracking, venue booking, and communication.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for educational programs for veterinary teams on topics aligned with Veterinary Affairs objectives.
- Deliver educational lectures and seminars to diverse audiences.
- Identify potential external speakers, develop speaking opportunities, and moderate Continuing Education (CE) events.
- Identify and pursue education agreements and sponsorship opportunities with relevant organizations.
- Technical and Strategic Support (10%):
- Act as a technical and strategic resource for Hill's Territory Managers.
- Engage in educational conversations with veterinary teams during field visits.
- Provide answers to sales team inquiries regarding technical product questions.
- Partner with the Regional Sales Manager to enhance Territory Manager technical and product expertise through training and coaching.
- Support regional training needs and deliver product training at meetings and in the field.
Travel Requirements
- Work from home: 10-15%
- Day travel: Approximately 65%
- Overnight travel: Approximately 20%
- Candidates should be based in the greater Montreal area.
Requirements
- Professional degree in veterinary medicine (DVM, VMD or equivalent) OR a Registered Veterinary Technician with 3+ years of clinical practice experience.
- Current, active license to practice in the province of Quebec (or equivalent).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong analytical skills and a basic understanding of business principles.
- Ability to work independently, manage a demanding schedule with irregular hours, and travel within the designated region.
- Self-starter with high initiative, a strong work ethic, and high integrity.
- General computer skills, strong organization, and time management skills.
- Proven sales experience in a related industry is a benefit.
What We Offer
- Salary: $105,300.00 - $122,850.00 CAD per year (based on experience, education, skills, and location).
