About the Role
Delta Air Lines is seeking a dynamic and experienced Global Sales Account Executive to join our team. This hybrid role, based from home with regular travel to Virgin Atlantic's Headquarters in Crawley and AFKL's Headquarters near LHR, as well as within the UK, Europe, and the USA, offers a unique opportunity to manage a key portfolio of UK accounts in collaboration with our Joint Venture partner, Virgin Atlantic.
Reporting to the Sales Manager, UK & Ireland, you will be responsible for managing accounts across revenue, relationships, and solutions to achieve defined objectives. You will drive high-yield revenue and market share growth across the UK Point of Sale through strategic engagement, partner enablement, and brand representation. Success in this role hinges on effective account management, building customer trust, and understanding customer business objectives to tailor product and service communications. Key metrics for success include revenue, share, premium revenue, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive actions to increase high-yield revenue and share within a defined UK portfolio in cooperation with Virgin Atlantic, delivering against agreed commercial and revenue targets.
- Maintain strong business relationships and develop mutually beneficial objectives aligned with shared goals.
- Support the optimization of performance drivers for Delta routes and Joint Venture cooperation, utilizing performance data and commercial insight to identify sales opportunities, monitor results, and improve outcomes.
- Leverage industry and competitive insights to strengthen relationships and support portfolio growth.
- Facilitate training for partner sales teams and portfolio accounts to build capability and confidence in selling Delta products and policies.
- Communicate relevant updates to maintain Delta's top-of-mind awareness, participate in Virgin Atlantic sales meetings, and collaborate with Delta HQ to support the delivery of regional solutions.
- Support contract preparation, negotiation, implementation, and ongoing management across your portfolio, aligned with Joint Venture agreements and channel strategies.
- Utilize CRM tools to maintain accurate customer data, track activity, and support effective account management.
- Represent the Delta brand at key customer and industry events.
- Undertake specialist projects as business needs arise, supporting broader commercial priorities.
Requirements
- Permanent authorization to live and work in the United Kingdom without sponsorship.
- Minimum of three years of industry sales and commercial experience.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Strong interpersonal skills, business decision-making ability, and results orientation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis, negotiation, time management, organization, planning, and presentation delivery.
- Skilled in sales performance drivers, able to identify top market opportunities, and execute plans to achieve improved business results.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to travel extensively within the region, Europe, and the U.S.
- Ability to adapt to constant change.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
- Comfortable working with all levels across internal and Joint Venture organizations.
- Valid full UK driving license.
