About the Role
As a Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier, you will be responsible for the safe and timely sorting, collection, and delivery of mail. You will become an integral part of the community, ensuring mail reaches its destination efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Sort, collect, and deliver mail items safely and in a timely manner.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of local infrastructure, including roads, customers, and delivery receptacles.
- Ensure mail is securely kept in your possession.
- Process various Canada Post products and services, such as Change of Address Notifications and Damaged Mail reports.
- Wear Canada Post identification visibly while on duty.
- Lift and carry items up to 50 lb (22.7 kg).
- Operate a motor vehicle in all kinds of weather and traffic conditions.
- Provide coverage for vacation, absences, or extra hours as required.
Requirements
- A satisfactory safe driving record (driver's abstract required).
- A valid, permanent provincial driver's license (Class 5 or G).
- Experience in making deliveries and operating a motor vehicle in various weather and traffic conditions.

Vehicle Requirements
- A minimum cargo capacity of 50 cu ft (1415 liters).
- Automatic transmission.

- A metal roof-top with an accessory power outlet for a Canada Post sign and flashing light.
- Passenger window sill height between 38" and 45" from the ground, with a maximum interior width of 56".
- A fifth door/hatchback is preferred for loading oversized items.
- You must provide and maintain the required automobile liability insurance for business use and notify your insurance company of your employment with Canada Post.
