SEO Strategist (Remote, Canada)
Brafton is seeking a passionate and curious SEO Strategist to join our Consulting Department. This is a full-time, permanent remote position open to candidates across Canada.

This client-facing role requires strong communication, analytical, and technical skills. You will be responsible for making complex search concepts clear and engaging for both internal teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop competitive and compelling SEO audits, proposals, and reports.
- Utilize SEO software tools (e.g., SEMRush, Hrefs, MarketMuse) to assess website health, identify errors, and uncover opportunities.
- Execute site optimization and technical SEO tasks based on planned scopes.
- Conduct SEO-specific research and optimization for projects including UX/website redesigns, large-scale keyword research, and backlink strategies.
- Leverage Google Analytics to inform strategy and measure performance.
- Collaborate effectively with various internal teams as a versatile team player.
- Stay current with SEO best practices, applying learnings to work and sharing knowledge with colleagues and clients.
Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of experience managing SEO programs, preferably within an agency setting.
- Proven success with SEO campaigns for medium to large brands, including e-commerce.
- Strong understanding of cross-channel marketing principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a positive attitude.
- Advanced understanding of technical SEO concepts (crawling, indexing, rendering, AMP, site migrations, page speed optimization, Core Web Vitals).
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient user of Google Analytics and Google Search Console (Tag Manager and/or Publisher Center experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with recent SEO developments (Core Web Vitals, Google Discover, E-A-T, Rich Results).
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS as they relate to search performance.
- Experience with standard and enterprise SEO tools and platforms (e.g., SEMRush, Sistrix, DeepCrawl, Screaming Frog, GTMetrix).
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet software (Google Sheets, Excel).
- Skilled in creating professional presentations and reports using MS PowerPoint and Google Slides.
