About the Role
The Director, National Accounts will lead headquarters (HQ) engagement with key partners such as Kroger and Albertsons. This role is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies across divisional planning for each account, focusing on building strong customer relationships, driving profitable growth, and expanding Recess' market footprint. The ideal candidate will possess a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, delivering results while cultivating long-term partnerships. This position is eligible to participate in the Recess Sales Bonus Plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver against volume, revenue, and market share targets, along with key performance indicators (KPIs) such as ACV, promo efficiency, and trade ROI.
- Manage trade and promotional budgets, ensuring efficient spending aligned with team goals.
- Develop and present customized sales pitch decks for Recess products, tailored to each key account.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with buyers and senior account stakeholders.
- Manage the Profit & Loss (P&L) for slotting fees, promotions, and other customer-related expenses.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, etc.) to execute robust account plans.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within identified key channels.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on promotional schedules and customer activity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sales experience, preferably in Mass or Grocery channels.
- Experience with Kroger, Albertsons, or other national accounts is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CPG sales processes and promotional planning.
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
- Engaging presentation and communication abilities.
- Strong financial literacy with experience managing trade budgets and P&L.
- Results-oriented mindset, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel domestically is required.
