Job Description
Senior Product Scientist (Care Intelligence)
Headspace is seeking a Senior Product Scientist to lead the measurement systems and data infrastructure that enable effective, efficient care delivery at scale. This role is at the intersection of product strategy, data science, and care operations, focusing on scientific rigor in demand forecasting and demonstrating the value of Headspace's services. You will partner with Data Science, Care Operations, and Clinical leadership to redesign forecasting systems that drive staffing, capacity, and cost decisions, while also building the evidence framework to communicate Headspace's Return on Investment (ROI) to all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the product roadmap for care demand forecasting, collaborating with Data Science and Care Operations to refine models that predict member volume and inform staffing, capacity, and cost decisions.
- Create and maintain Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) that translate complex forecasting and measurement needs into technical specifications, including model architecture, validation frameworks, and operational integration.
- Provide technical product oversight and coordinate with Data Science and Care Operations to ensure alignment on forecasting methodologies and implementation.
- Define and monitor key technical metrics (e.g., forecast accuracy, model reliability) to drive continuous improvement and efficiency gains in the care network.
- Establish and maintain a structured validation and learning loop to compare model performance against projections, enabling rapid recalibration and ongoing enhancement.
- Develop and implement the measurement framework for ROI, focusing on the evidence infrastructure and reporting capabilities to track Headspace's value across member and operational outcomes.
- Collaborate with Clinical, Commercial, and Data Science teams to address measurement gaps and build a credible, scalable value narrative based on member outcomes, workforce, and payer metrics.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in product management, data science, or a related field, with a proven ability to own and deliver complex, analytically driven products or workstreams.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with quantitative modeling, forecasting systems, or measurement frameworks. Ability to translate technical complexity into clear product decisions and stakeholder communications.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with data science or engineering teams to define requirements, validate models, and launch data-powered products.
- Exceptional strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify high-impact problems, develop a clear point of view, and align cross-functional partners.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across product, operations, clinical, and commercial functions.
- Experience in digital health, clinical operations, workforce planning, or enterprise wellness sectors is preferred.
- Familiarity with forecasting methodologies, causal inference, or health economics and outcomes research is preferred.
- Experience building or scaling measurement and reporting infrastructure is preferred.
- A passion for mental health, evidence-based care, and Headspace's mission is preferred.
