Canonical Ltd. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our growing Finance team. About the Role

This role is ideal for someone looking to learn the fundamentals of finance within an organization and contribute to process improvements. You will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our accounts payable processes, working alongside a supportive global team.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the accuracy of Accounts Payable ledgers and perform account reconciliations.
• Manage vendor data, including validation and approval of new accounts, and maintain audit records.
• Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring proper entry into accounting systems.
• Prepare supplier payments according to the payment schedule and present them clearly for approval.
• Identify, monitor, and release payments that are properly withheld.
• Assist with month-end processes, including prepayments, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Resolve supplier queries and issues effectively, escalating when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with established processes and procedures, recommending corrective actions and maintaining relevant records.

Requirements

• Strong educational background in Accounting or Finance.
• Excellent spreadsheet skills, including proficiency with functions like Pivot Tables and Lookups.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders.
• A genuine passion for finance and a strong ambition for career progression.
• Experience using an enterprise-level accounting system is advantageous.
