The Impact You’ll Have

As a Team Lead, Engineering, you will guide a cross-functional team of 6-10 professionals, balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on technical contributions (50/50 split). You will be instrumental in driving technical excellence, mentoring your team, and delivering scalable, innovative solutions within a fast-paced environment. Your focus will be on fostering collaboration, implementing best practices, and ensuring the team achieves organizational goals while delivering exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership:
  • Serve as a technical leader, combining hands-on development with strategic oversight.
  • Design, code, and deliver high-quality, scalable applications using Node.js.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to foster team growth and skill development.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in development, testing, and deployment.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain high coding standards.
• Team Effectiveness:
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to create outstanding user experiences.
  • Drive technical planning and execution, balancing short-term needs with long-term system health.
  • Promote Agile methodologies to enhance team productivity.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the team.
• Strategic Execution:
  • Define and implement technical strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Represent your team in cross-functional discussions, aligning technical requirements with business objectives.
• Culture and Collaboration:
  • Actively participate in hiring and scaling teams, upholding company values.
  • Manage performance cycles and support the professional growth of team members.
  • Cultivate a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and engineering excellence.

  • Partner with product, design, and other engineering teams for seamless alignment.
  • Resolve complex, multi-team technical challenges through cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Requirements

• Software Engineering Fundamentals:
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Experience designing maintainable, scalable systems.
  • Ability to write clean, structured, and testable code.
• SQL Proficiency:
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries.
  • Deep understanding of data structures and query performance.
• APIs and Distributed Systems:
  • Experience working with APIs and distributed systems.
  • Ability to debug integrations and understand data flow across services.
• Problem-Solving:
  • Strong ability in root cause analysis across code, data, and systems.
• Production Environment Experience:
  • Experience handling incidents, debugging issues, and managing escalations in production environments.

Bonus Points

• Experience with cross-browser and cross-platform development.
• Knowledge of Node.js and JavaScript.
