Job Purpose
The Fire Fighter is responsible for responding to aircraft and structural fire emergencies, medical emergencies, hazardous material incidents, and other emergencies within the airport premises. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and security of passengers, crew, and airport personnel through effective firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Emergency Response:
- Promptly respond to aircraft incidents, structural fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and other emergency situations on airport property.
- Perform firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical services to safeguard individuals and property.
- Fire Suppression:
- Extinguish fires using various techniques and firefighting agents (water, foam, dry chemicals).
- Conduct search and rescue operations in hazardous environments.
- Emergency Medical Services:
- Provide first aid and basic life support (BLS) until advanced medical personnel arrive.
- Assist in patient transportation to medical facilities.
- Operational Readiness:
- Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of firefighting vehicles, extinguishers, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain inventory of firefighting supplies and ensure equipment readiness.
- Participate in emergency response simulations, ICAO-mandated training, and fire drills.
- Maintain detailed incident reports, training records, and shift logs.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Adhere to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Identify and report potential hazards during patrols and inspections, ensuring corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit accurate incident reports and equipment logs.
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate with airport operations, medical services, and external emergency agencies during incidents.
- Coordinate with the Duty Manager, Air Traffic Control (ATC), and airport authorities during emergency operations.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Diploma in Fire Fighting Technology or an equivalent qualification.
- Certification from an accredited firefighting academy is required.
- Experience:
- 2-3 years of firefighting experience, preferably in Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) operations.
This is a permanent, onsite position within the Greater Lucknow Area.
