ANROWS (Australia's National Research Organisation for Women's Safety) is seeking an experienced Head of People and Culture to join their Senior Leadership Team. This is a strategic and operational role focused on shaping the culture and foundations of a leading research organisation dedicated to ending violence against women and children.
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief of Staff, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Executives, and leaders across the organisation. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence organisational culture, workforce strategy, leadership capability, and employee experience during a phase of growth and evolution. You will be instrumental in establishing the systems, frameworks, processes, and practices necessary for a high-performing and sustainable organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead ANROWS' People & Culture strategy and workforce planning.
- Strengthen organisational culture, engagement, and leadership capability.
- Partner with leaders through organisational change and transformation.
- Build contemporary people systems, frameworks, and processes.
- Lead employee and industrial relations matters.
- Support workforce capability, retention, and succession planning.
- Drive psychosocial safety, wellbeing, and trauma-informed practice.
- Oversee organisational development initiatives, remuneration frameworks, and workforce planning.
- Provide strategic workforce advice and insights to the Executive and Board.
About You
You are a senior People & Culture leader with a proven track record of navigating complexity, ambiguity, and organisational change. You possess both strategic vision and a hands-on approach to driving meaningful transformation. Experience in purpose-driven organisations, government, research, community services, higher education, or complex corporate environments is beneficial.
You Will Bring
- Significant experience in senior People & Culture or Human Resources leadership roles.
- Strong expertise in organisational development, workforce planning, and change management.
- Sound knowledge of Australian employment law, industrial relations, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience building or strengthening people systems, frameworks, and processes.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Strong resilience, judgement, and emotional intelligence.
- Experience supporting leaders through complex workforce and cultural challenges.
- A collaborative, hands-on, and solutions-focused approach.
