About The Role

As a Public Sector Account Director, you will be instrumental in building and closing deals within the State and Local Government (SLG) sector. Your primary focus will be to develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, identify new opportunities, and manage the sales process from lead generation to deal closure. This role demands a deep understanding of the hiring needs and operational dynamics of SLG agencies, coupled with strategic thinking and a strong drive to achieve revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with senior executives in the SLG sector.
  • Meet or exceed annual sales quotas by generating a high volume of engagement with SLG departments and agencies.
  • Understand the business drivers, challenges, and pain points of government departments and agencies.
  • Navigate the complexities of SLG procurement processes and contracting.
  • Organize and lead meetings with senior economic buyers within large SLG departments.
  • Develop proposals, executive briefings, and conduct executive roundtables for HR and business leaders.
  • Generate a consistent pipeline and revenue to achieve 100% of annual quota attainment.
  • Lead participation in industry events to drive new business development.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental efforts to secure enterprise-wide agreements.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com daily for activity management, lead tracking, and pipeline management.
  • Execute new sales activities as requested to support market expansion.

Requirements:

  • Proven knowledge of the US government acquisition process and contracting.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Account Executive experience selling SaaS-based solutions into the SLG sector.
  • Demonstrated success in pitching and closing six-figure deals.
  • Experience navigating and building relationships within large SLG departments and agencies.
  • Proven ability to negotiate large government contracts, develop off-cycle pipeline, and generate new leads.
  • Track record of successfully selling enterprise-wide solutions.
  • Excellent customer-facing skills and the ability to effectively engage with senior government officials.
  • A strong history of quota attainment and high performance.
  • Experience in preparing account plans and developing business value narratives.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with a go-to-market team.
