This role focuses on testing, evaluating, and improving AI systems through specialized problem-solving. Please note that this is project-based work, not permanent employment.

About the Role

As a Research Physicist AI Trainer, you will contribute to the development of advanced AI by designing and solving complex physics problems. These problems are crucial for training and validating AI models, simulating real-world research scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

While specific tasks vary by project, contributors may be involved in:

• Designing original optics problems that mirror real physics research workflows.
• Ensuring problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within practical timeframes.
• Developing problems requiring complex reasoning in areas such as mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
• Basing problems on actual research challenges or practical applications from optics and physics.
• Clearly documenting problem statements and providing verified correct answers.

Requirements

This opportunity is ideal for physicists interested in part-time, non-permanent projects. We are looking for candidates with:

• A degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience (applied, research, or teaching experience is applicable).
• Experience with numerical simulation methods.
• The ability to design problems that accurately reflect real physics research workflows.
• Creative thinking skills applicable to problem design across diverse physics domains.
• Familiarity with physics modeling and approximation techniques.
• Strong written English proficiency (C1+).

Project Details

• Contract Type: Freelance, project-based.
• Estimated Workload: Approximately 10–20 hours per week during active project phases. This is an estimate and not a guaranteed workload.
• Compensation: Up to $29 per hour equivalent, depending on your qualifications and contribution pace. Compensation may vary across different projects on the platform.
