About the Team
The Government Affairs and Public Affairs team serves as Stripe's representative to governments, regulators, industry partners, and other stakeholders. We help the company navigate the evolving global policy landscape, anticipate and address challenges, and advocate for our users and the online economy. This team collaborates closely with Policy Development, Legal, Communications, Marketing, and regional product and go-to-market teams to ensure a unified and consistent global engagement strategy.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and execution of global public affairs strategies aligned with Stripe's policy and business objectives.
- Coordinate with regional Government Affairs, Policy Development, Communications, and Marketing leads to adapt global narratives and campaigns for local markets.
- Gather meaningful data and proof points to support policy and advocacy efforts.
- Execute external engagement activities, including outreach to policymakers, industry groups, and partner organizations, under senior guidance.
- Draft and maintain clear messaging, briefing materials, talking points, and short-form collateral for internal and external audiences.
- Support the management of stakeholder relationships (e.g., trade associations, think tanks, NGOs, partner companies) and maintain stakeholder tracking.
- Help organize events and convenings that facilitate policy discussions involving Stripe leaders, users, and partners.
- Support the measurement and reporting of global public affairs activities and contribute to team processes and project management.
Who You Are
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in public policy, public affairs, government relations, communications, advocacy, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience executing political or advocacy campaigns, building coalitions, coordinating stakeholders, and managing events.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with experience producing clear briefings and short-form messaging.
- A foundational understanding of policy, government affairs, and the tech or payments ecosystem.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional partners in an international environment.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively, be resourceful, detail-oriented, and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% for meetings and events.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience and existing relationships within the US and European policy ecosystems.
- Experience supporting global or multi-jurisdictional public affairs work, including adapting and deploying global messaging and playbooks for local audiences.
- Background or advocacy experience in technology, financial services, or related sectors.
- Additional language skills beyond English are a plus.
Working Remotely at Stripe
This role is remote, defined as living 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from a Stripe office. While you are welcome to use office facilities for meetings and events, the expectation is regular work from home. Stripe does not cover relocation costs for remote positions. Pay and Benefits
The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €102,100 - €153,100. This range may vary based on your location and will be discussed during the interview process. For sales roles, this range represents On-Target Earnings (OTE), including base salary and target commissions/bonuses.
